Hi, I'm Chrissy!
I'm a communications strategist and former journalist with over seven years of experience telling stories that matter—from local broadcasts to national and international headlines. My reporting has spanned some of the most consequential stories of the past decade, including the Gabby Petito case, the Capitol Riots, and the George Floyd protests, alongside communications leadership for the Pan African Chamber of Commerce, where I collaborated with international partners and managed cross-cultural teams.
Today, I serve as Communications Project Manager at the Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative, where I lead organizational communications, funder reporting, and social media strategy for Hillsborough County's Continuum of Care lead agency. I also manage a capacity-building initiative that pairs smaller nonprofits with mentorship and technical assistance—work that sits at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and systems change.
I'm currently pursuing my M.A. in Global Affairs at the University of Oklahoma, with a concentration in Global Economics and Development. My graduate work deepens my long-standing focus on international development, postcolonial frameworks, and amplifying Global South perspectives—interests that inform everything from my advocacy communications to my long-term research ambitions.
Whether I'm building a communications plan, briefing executive leadership, cultivating media relationships, or translating complex policy into accessible narratives, my goal is the same: ensuring diverse voices aren't just heard, but centered.
I'm always open to connecting around opportunities in communications, marketing, and global affairs—let's talk.
